Lapidus Black Extreme by Ted Lapidus for Men

Lapidus Black Extreme Cologne by Ted Lapidus, Lapidus Black Extreme is a men’s Oriental fougere cologne that was launched in 2012. This is an updated version of the Lapidus Pour Homme from 1987 and was signed by perfumer Jean Jacques of Takasago.

The fragrance has balsamic, white floral, ozonic, sweet, aromatic, and warm spicy main accords. It starts with top notes of violet leaf, black pepper, and citruses. In the middle are orange blossom, saffron, and woody notes. Tonka bean and labdanum notes are found in the base. The sillage is heavy while the longevity is long lasting, making this scent good for fall and winter day and evening wear.

Ted Lapidus was a French designer who founded his eponymous brand in 1951, at the age of 22, after completing an apprenticeship with Christian Dior. Based in Paris, the fashion house gained popularity in the 1960s with its unisex styles, safari themes, and military-influenced accents. Lapidus presented his first fragrance in 1970 and worked initially with L’Oreal. The Jacques Bogart Group had held the fragrance license since 1983.
