Tova Borgnine of Tova Beverly Hills became a household name thanks to a face cream she created from a Mexican formula and tested on her famous husband, actor Ernest Borgnine. After he mentioned the cream to a news reporter, the journalist wrote an article about this "facelift in a jar."

The story spread around the country and made the cream an overnight sensation. Unlike other brands that rely on department stores, Borgnine made her own catalogues to bring her products to the masses. In recent years she has moved away from these catalogues and has sold her collections exclusively on Qvc. Her eponymous perfume was just the first of multiple fragrances she has produced over the past few decades.
