Adieu Sagesse by Jean Patou for Women

Adieu Sagesse Perfume by Jean Patou, Adieu Sagesse is a women’s chypre floral fragrance by Jean Patou. Launched in 1925, the nose for the fragrance was Henri Almeras, a Grasse-trained, French perfumer who worked with couturier Jean Patou from 1925 to 1933.

The scent, which has white floral, floral, and musky main accords, can be worn all year round, day or night. It has long-lasting longevity and moderate to enormous sillage. The fragrance leads with top notes of neroli, narcissus, bergamot, lily-of-the-valley, and black currant. The heart notes consist of carnation, jasmine, and tuberose, with vetiver, musk, and civetta base notes carrying the weight.

Born in 1887, designer Jean Patou was a French designer who began working in his uncle’s fur business at age 20. He moved to Paris in 1914 to establish a dressmaking business but then served as a military captain in World War I. After the war, he reopened his boutique and in 1925, began releasing fragrances. Though Patou passed away in 1936, his fragrance line is his legacy, with some scents remaining in production.
