Weil was initially founded in 1912 by a family of furriers. Three brothers, Alfred, Marcel and Jacques, decided to make the leap into perfumery. In 1927, the company started offering perfumes to the wealthy that perfectly complemented the family's line of fur coats. During World War Ii, the brand moved from Paris to the United States.
