Serge Lutens is a French-born artist who is talented in fashion, photography, hair styling, and making films. Lutens moved to Paris to work as a makeup artist for Vogue in the 1960s, before working in photography and film in the 70s, directing a couple of short films that were featured at the annual Cannes Film Festival. By the 80s, Lutens was working for Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido's image department, a partnership that was beneficial for all parties involved, helping give Luten his start in the perfume industry in the early 1980s.
