L’Artisan Parfumeur was established by famed perfumer Jean Laporte. As he was a chemist by training, a friend asked him to create a banana-scented fragrance to pair with a costume. His success as this request led him to explore perfumery as a new occupation and eventually launch a brand. The original fragrances are still popular to this day.
