Molinard was established in 1849 in southern France, which is considered to be the area in which the perfume industry was born. The company began to gain momentum with the introduction of the scents "Jasmine" and "Rose," kept in bottles with an ornate crystal design created by Baccarat. The headquarters in use today was purchased by the company in 1900 and was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same person who designed the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris.
