Un Bois Vanille Perfume by Serge Lutens, Un Bois Vanille is a sweet vanilla fragrance for women that was launched in 2003. The scent contains notes of milk, beeswax, bitter almond, musk, vanilla, benzoin, guaiac wood, tonka bean, sandalwood, black licorice, and coconut. It was a collaboration with perfumer Christopher Sheldrake.
Serge Lutens is a French artist whose works include fashion design, perfume design, photography, cosmology, and filmmaking. He was born in France in 1942 and was a hairstylist in Lille when he began to work in cosmetics and photography. The designer moved to Paris around 1960 for a position with Vogue magazine.
A few years later in 1967, Christian Dior commissioned Lutens for a cosmetics line. Lutens has also had short films shown at Cannes Film Festival. Parfums-Beaute Serge Lutens was brought to life in 2000, and the fragrances from Lutens have been collaborative efforts with Christopher Sheldrake. The brand continues to produce niche fragrances today.
