Established in 1977, Victoria's Secret opened its first shops in San Francisco. Its founders, Roy and Gaye Raymond, wanted to change how American consumers shop for lingerie. Within its first five years of business, the company launched a successful mail order catalog and grossed over $6 million in yearly sales. After Les Wexner bought Vs in 1982, the brand grew and gained an international presence.
