The American designer, director and screenwriter Tom Ford discovered his love for fashion when interning for Chloé while living in in Paris. Upon returning to the United States he found a job with Cathy Hardwick before going to Perry Ellis in 1988. During the 1990s, he helped turn a struggling Gucci around and was eventually promoted as its creative director. Starting in 2006, he launched his personal label, selling menswear, womenswear, accessories and fragrances.
