Colony Perfume by Jean Patou, Colony for women was first released in 1938 and is a sweet and fruity fragrance that is the perfect scent to wear when you want a light and refreshing pick-me-up that won’t become overbearing.
The perfume starts with the top notes of relaxing ylang ylang and juicy pineapple, the scent then transitions to the middle notes of vetiver, woody oak, sweet opoponax, iris and carnation. The warm base notes of worn leather and musk provide the perfect contrast to the lighter and sweeter notes of the perfume.
This scent is long-lasting so you know it can survive your day with you and has a moderate sillage so you’ll know you’re wearing it but it won’t overpower the room. The perfume was created by Jean Patou, a French designer that started his first shop in 1912. After serving in the military in World War I, he started another company in Paris in 1919 and released his first fragrance in 1925.
