While this fragrance was originally released by Balenciaga, the current maker is Ted Lapidus. Mr. Lapidus is a designer from Paris who launched his own brand in 1951 after working as an apprentice for Christian Dior. While he began his label with fashion design, he eventually began to include accessories and fragrances.

His first fragrance was launched in 1970 in collaboration with L’Oreal. In 1989, his son took over the company, and by 2000, the brand’s sole focus shifted to its accessories and fragrances.
