4711 Acqua Colonia Blood Orange & Basil Perfume by Maurer & Wirtz, 4711 Acqua Colonia Blood Orange & Basil is a fresh, bold fragrance intended for both men and women as a mood enhancing and energizing perfume.

The luxurious aroma opens with a citrus top note of blood orange made even more exciting by a spicy base note of basil. This delicious fragrance, released in March of 2010, comes in a unique, retro glass flacon bottle ornamented with relief.

Maurer & Wirtz was originally founded as a soap production company in 1854 by father and stepson duo, Michael Maurer and Andreas Wirtz, eventually adding fragrances to their wares by the 20th Century. The company is based in Stolberg, Germany, a small town near Aachen.

For much of their 150 years of tradition, Maurer & Wirtz remained a European-focused company and although they have since branched out internationally, they have continued to keep the business in the family for five generations.
