The opening is a brisk, sparkling effusion of grapefruit, watermelon and mint, laced with the superbly elegant fragrance of pure citron and just pricked with toasted coriander. Herbal and aqueous accords emerge as the scent settles, introducing a green, sweet and subtly spicy heart of basil, anise and cardamom. Chocolate, smoke and warm amber facets define the final dry down, balanced with an irrepressibly cheerful accord of woody, resinous cedar.
Purchased by the French cosmetics brand L'Oreal in 2008, Roger & Gallet is an old fragrance house established in 1862. Perfume designers who have partnered with the label include Philippe Romano, Henri Roger, Elise Benat, Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Fabrice Pellegrin, Mathilde Bijaoui, Jacques Cavallier, Anne Flipo, Dorothee Piot, Alberto Morillas, Francis Kurkdjian, Marie Salamagne and Amandine Clerc-Marie.
