Bel Ami by Hermes for Men

Bel Ami Cologne by Hermes, Released in 1986, Bel Ami by Hermes is a complex, aromatic cologne for men created by Jean-Louis Sieuzac. This fragrance get its name from the 1885 novel by Guy de Maupassant.

Top notes are a blend of citrus and spice, including bergamot, mandarin and cardamom. Patchouli and cedar middle notes blend with carnation and jasmine for a woodsy, slightly floral twist. Base notes of coconut and vanilla round everything out with a subtly sweet undercurrent, balanced with a masculine hint of leather. This luxurious scent is appropriate for any time of day, and it’s especially suited for fall and winter.

In 1837, Thierry Hermes founded a family business that designed bridles and harnesses catered to the noble class. These roots inspired the horse and carriage logo that the brand still uses today. Nearly 50 years after its inception, Hermes began creating saddles and eventually branched out into handbags. Its first fragrance launched in 1949.
