Marquis De Sade Attaquer Le Soleil by Etat Libre D'Orange for Unisex

Marquis De Sade Attaquer Le Soleil Perfume by Etat Libre D'orange, Marquis De Sade Attaquer Le Soleil is an intriguing soliflore centered on the scent of cistus, or rockrose.

The name for this fragrance by Etat Libre d'Orange, introduced in 2016, translates into “to attack the sun.” It also references the Marquis de Sade, a French 18th-century nobleman who was known for his sexual libertinism. This fragrance utilizes all parts of the rockrose – flowers, leaves, twigs and roots, creating a fuller scent than traditional rockrose. Although there is only one note officially released, the fragrance also seems to contain notes of juniper, moss, cedar and musk.

Etat Libre d'Orange, meaning “the Orange Free State,” was founded in 2006 by Etienne de Swardt. This niche perfume house celebrates unusual pairings and ingredients and seeks to throw off all the restrictions of the traditional perfume trade. All of its fragrances are unisex and are visually indistinguishable except for the labels.
