Chocolat Mat Perfume by Masaki Matsushima, Chocolat Mat is a casual, comforting oriental floral fragrance for women released in 2005 by Japanese design house Masaki Matsushima.
The opening notes are striking and fresh, a sweet and summery blend of tangy ripe black currant, sparkling grapefruit, watermelon and powdery red rose. As the citrus and fruit tones settle, a rich dark chocolate accord develops, deep and sweet with just a hint of spiciness. The finish is sensuous and sumptuous, mingling creamy soft sandalwood, lush, tropical coconut and lightest musk.
Masaki Matsushima founded his fashion label in 1992 after finishing his studies at the prestigious Bunka Fashion College in Japan. In 2000 he expanded into fragrance design, releasing his first scent collection in 2001. Chocolat for women is part of the house's Mat collection, which also includes Cherry, Le Vert, Le Rouge, Metal, Stone, Pink, White, Yellow, Orange and Blue. Brand collections also include Aqua Mat, Art, Hinoki, M, Matsu and Tokyo.
