The French fashion designer and photographer Thierry Mugler grew to popularity during the mid-1970s. Mugler worked as a professional dancer at the age of 14. During university, he studied interior design until moving to Paris at the age of 24. At this time, he worked as a freelance designer and window dresser. Mugler’s first fashion collection for women was released in 1973.
The following year, he opened a boutique in Paris and released a menswear collection featuring distinguished characteristics including futuristic shapes and elements of fantasy.
