Fougere Royale Cologne by Houbigant, Fougere Royale was launched by Houbigant in 2010 as an update to a scent from 1882. It was a completely new type of fragrance signature based on a green, fern-like center.
The update by Rodrigo Flores-Roux has the same fresh, newly mown grass center, but in a balanced, long-lasting fragrance. The top notes are chamomile, bergamot, lavender and the green notes. The scent unfurls slowly with the central notes of carnation, geranium and spices adding a warmer touch. The base notes of moss, clary sage and Tonka bean balance the green notes with an earthy, woodsy finish. The complex blend of herbaceous notes with fern and fresh spices make Fougere Royale a modern favorite.
Parfums Houbigant Paris is a perfume house established in 1775. In the 1800’s, the perfumery had become so popular with the aristocracy that Marie Antoinette, Napoleon and Queen Victoria were favored customers. Today the company offers a few dozen luxury fragrances for men and women.
