Jil Sander Sun by Jil Sander, Launched in 1989, Jil Sander Sun blends balsamic, woody, sweet and spicy accords for a bright yet richly layered aromatic profile. The opening single note is sunny sweet orange blossom, followed by a heart of iris, carnation, heliotrope and ylang-ylang. The base notes combine cedar, white tonka bean, benzoin and vanilla. Pierre Bourdon crafted this light yet substantial fragrance, and its simple packaging reflects a carefree, fun outlook.
The German designer Jil Sander launched her eponymous fashion label in 1978 after studying textile design in the United States and working at a women’s magazine and a boutique in her home country. Pairing up minimalistic designs with luxurious fabrics, her ready-to-wear lines made their mark in the fashion world. Her fragrance collection first broke into the market in 1979 with the launch of Pure Man and Pure Woman. The brand’s history includes more than 70 scents, including Sunlight for women released in 2018.
