The maker of this fragrance is Jean Patou, who is a fashion designer, creator, and hedonist. He was born in Normandy, France and learned of his talents by working in his family’s businesses. He moved to Paris in 1912 to open a small fashion studio, and he sold his entire collection to an American buyer in 1914. He served in the military in 1915 as a captain during World War I. Once the war ended, he reopened his boutique.
