Juicy Couture was launched in 1995 by two friends Gela Nash and Pamela Skaist-Levy. The company first began as an independent fashion label for maternity pants and was established in Pacoima, California. Eventually, the owners sought a new audience and began sending completed modern fashion designs to celebrities. The company was purchased by Liz Claiborne in 2003, and the brand became an international sensation.
One of the brand's earliest pieces was the Juicy tracksuit custom-designed for singer Madonna. The design became an immediate trend, and many more celebrity endorsements followed.
