Luna Nina Ricci by Nina Ricci, Launched in 2016, Luna Nina Ricci is an Oriental vanilla fragrance with moderate longevity and sillage.
The perfume leads with top notes of wild berries and orange blossom, followed by lime and tangerine. The middle notes have the predominant caramel alongside immortelle or daisy, pear, and jasmine. Madagascar vanilla and sandalwood provide the foundation for the base notes, which are also joined by licorice and white musk. Developed by perfumers Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne, Luna was meant to be a mysterious, bold, and intense evening fragrance. Its flacon is blue and apple-shaped, with a leather tie around its neck and two golden leaves atop the stopper.
The French fashion house Nina Ricci was founded in 1932 by Italian Maria “Nina” Ricci and her son Robert. While Nina was the designer, Robert was the business and finance manager who initiated the brand’s entry into perfumery in 1946 with Couer Joie, which is still in production today. The Spanish beauty and fashion group Puig now owns the Nina Ricci fashion and perfume businesses, which are headquartered in Paris, France.
