Pierre Cardin Cologne by Pierre Cardin, Pierre Cardin is a men’s woody spicy cologne with aromatic, fresh spicy, balsamic, warm spicy, citrus, and woody main accords. Released in 1972, this fragrance wears well on fall and winter days and nights. It has top notes of orange, lavender, basil, bergamot, and lemon, followed by middle notes of carnation, sandalwood, patchouli, and geranium. In the base are notes of leather, tonka bean, benzoin, amber, vanilla, and oak moss. The sillage and longevity are moderate.
French designer Pierre Cardin began his career in 1945, working for Jeanne Paquin, Elsa Schiaparelli, and Christian Dior in Paris before launching his own fashion house in 1950. He gained fame for his futuristic designs, launching his first women’s collection in 1953 and a men’s collection in 1957. Ready-to-wear collections followed soon afterwards. By the 1970s, Cardin began expanding his offerings to include fragrances, furniture, interior design, and jewelry. The first fragrance was launched in 1972, and Coty has been the holder of the fragrance license.
