The glass bottle and silver top are designed to look tiered, and the pale pink fragrance represents its femininity. The name of the perfume translates from the French to mean ‘first day’.
The top notes consist of gardenia and yellow mandarin. The heart notes comprise white dragee and the base notes include precious woods.
Maria Nielli was born in Turin in 1883. She moved to France at a young age and by the age of 13 was working as dressmaker’s apprentice. She continued her career in fashion, working for other designers and created the brand, Nina Ricci, in 1932. It began by creating dresses for women and soon expanded into a company selling clothing, accessories and fragrances across the world. The label launched its first scent in 1946.
