Rouge by Hermes, This luxurious, romantic feminine fragrance opens with top notes of powdery, earthy iris; fresh rose; and spicy, jasmine-like ylang-ylang. Oriental heart notes of sweet, woody resins and rich sandalwood mingle with the austerity of cedarwood smoothed by vanilla’s sweetness and warmth. Earthy myrrh’s sweet aroma complements the depth and power of labdanum and amber in the base. Longevity is high to extended with heavy sillage.

Rouge is nose Akiko Kamei’s 2000 reinterpretation of her 1984 original created for the house of Hermes. The French purveyor of luxury goods was established in 1837 and originally focused its business on accessories for equestrian enthusiasts. Many illustrious names in perfumery have been associated with the company over the years, including Guy Robert, Edmond Roudnitska and Christine Nagel.

In 2004 Jean-Claude Ellena was named exclusive in-house perfumer. The company’s current product offerings include accessories such as scarves and leather handbags in addition to fragrances.
