Salvador Dali is the eponymous fragrance line of the famous surrealist painter, Salvador Dali. He was inspired to create a fragrance after he finished painting Apparition of the Aphrodite of Knidos, when he drew a perfume bottle based on the nose and lips of the painting. He released his first fragrance in 1983 in memory of his recently departed wife, Gala. For him, it was the best way to immortalize her. It is said that they chose the scent together before her death.
