Jacomo was founded by James Kaplan and Gerard Courtin toward the end of the 1960s in New York City. The two were fashion designers until they shifted their focus in 1970. The company was absorbed by Sarbec Cosmetics, based in France, in 1995. Drawing on the original vision of Kaplan and Courtin, Sarbec continues to formulate quality products for men and women.
