In 1965, the Italian luxury fashion house Benetton was created by siblings Luciano, Gilberto, Carlo and Giuliana. During the 60s, the trend of brightly colored clothing was just beginning, and Luciano sought to develop this style by creating bold knitted sweaters. He bought his own knitting machine and began selling his own creations from the back of his bicycle.
